Some bugs fixed (and some added :)

15 dec 98: very good news: the first WWPacked file with compressed resources! Click here and download the smallest TASKMAN.EXE in the world (this file will soon be 0.5kb smaller - visit this page next week :)
12 dec 98: our new relocations stripper rules. Here are FAR.EXE file sample compression results:

14 nov 98: WWPack32 1.12 official release:
We decided not to release public version today, all the "unregistered" users should wait a few days more :)
26 oct 98: one of the registered users reported a small bug in the save fileinfo window. WWPack32 does not like the directory in this window to be changed. This bug has already been fixed, 1.12 final release will be "save fileinfo" bug free.
Another known bug is "diskfree" bug. WWPack32 does not like to compress files on a very big drives: if you try to compress file on a big drive (min. 2.1GB free space), there may be internal overflow, and the compressor will say "not enough space on a disk".
Temporary solution: copy the file that you want to compress to the smaller partition, and then compress it.
I'm trying to fix this bug and I think that 1.12 will be "diskfree" bug free.
18 oct 98: we got the first messages from 1.12 beta registered users. It seems that this version is much better, and compatibility with Windows NT has really been improved at last :) Hovewer some DLL still cannot work under NT!

WWPack32 1.11: released quickly to enable WWPack32 installation under Windows NT (it seems that UNRAR.DLL does not like to be compressed with WWPack32 1.1x :(

Sorry for one week delay in official 1.10 release. We had problems with our old web site, and decided not to release a new WWPack32 version as long as we don't have the new site (se here it is: much faster and more stable :)

This is not full release, so there is no doc and no SetupShield.
TIPS
Also .init section don't like to be compressed (can be found in some files, like far.exe).
Windows Commander is an example of a program that does EXE anti virus self checking. If you compress the main EXE file, the program will not run!
To compress ANIMAGIC32.EXE use manual mode: select DATA section compression and do not compress CODE section. Animagic cannot be compressed with auto mode!
| Note for shareware authors: please check compressed files under Windows NT as well as under Windows 95/98! There are a couple of DLL that Windows NT doesn't like to be compressed! |

| Q: | I've installed the registered version on the new computer, but WWPack32 says "there is no key file". What's up? |
| A: | You have to place WWPACK32.KEY file in the directory of the registered WWPack32 version! |
| Q: | What about Windows NT compatibility? |
| A: | As for EXE files everything is ok: if the compressed files run under Windows 95/98, it will run under NT. But we still have DLL problems: some of the compressed library files that can successfully run under Windows 95 doesn't like Windows NT!!! |

| A: | Yes, it will. We are working really hard to enable .rsrc compression! |
| Q: | I just saw that new WWPack32 version is available on some anonymous ftp, but my reg key doesn't work with it. |
| A: | The demo version that is available on the internet cannot be used as the registered version! The key file DOES NOT work with the demo version! |

| A: | Yes, that problem is fixed. Now you can read doc with WordPad. |
| Q: | Thank you for the key-file, but how do I use it? I've placed it in the wwpack32 directory, but it still says it's unregistered, and I can find any references on using the file otherwise. |
| A: | WWPACK32.KEY file must be stored in the same directory as registered WWPack32 version! The WWpack32 version that you can get from anonymous ftp sites is not fully functional version and it cannot be used as the registered one! |
| Q: | If you choose to install WWPack in a folder with a long filename, the shortcut doesn't work. |
| A: | This bug has been fixed in the SetupShield 0.10 (so WWPack32 1.12 installs quite well). |
